It takes 2-3 hours to get from the Sapporo New Chitose Airport to Hirafu. Transport in Japan is clean and efficient. You will want some flexibility in transport departure times in case your flight arrives late, which can happen if there is heavy snowfall.

There is a lift pass sales office at the base of the Family Pair lift just adjacent to Suiboku. The passes are electronic cards that can be placed in a pocket on your upper left side to be passed in front of the electronic readers at the lift stations.

This can be the most tedious (if not painful) part of any ski vacation, especially with young children trying to get used to the feel and weight of ski boots. It is best to give yourself an hour or so to organize your equipment.

It is likely that your group will require lessons for skiers/boarders of different levels. There are several very capable ski tutelage providers in Hirafu.

Hot springs or onsen are a must visit place! Nothing beats a superb soak in an outdoor bath while snow flakes fall gently from above. As an added bonus, the minerals contained in the waters are said to be effective against a variety of ailments.

The Hanazono Adventure Park has a range of fun and exciting activities at Hanazono, about fifteen minutes by car from Suiboku. NMS have wonderful baby-sitting staff who are happy to help give you that extra time needed to make your holiday even more relaxing.
